ERNEST SCOTT
SCOTT, ERNEST - On Monday, February 26, 2007, Ernest Scott of Saint John, in his 87th year passed peacefully away. Born on March 31, 1920, he was the son of the late Harold and Verta (Bishop) Scott. Ernest was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Fay; son, Donald (Janice) Scott and daughter Elizabeth (Bill) Craig; grandsons, Zachary and Graeme Scott; and granddaughter, Fallon Craig, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ernest was predeceased by infant son, David Ernest Scott and daughter, Cindy Beatrice (Scott) Seaman, as well as sister, Vivian Blaauwendraat. He served as a Corporal in the Canadian Army in WWII with the Glengarry Highlanders, 3rd Division, seeing action in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Ernest was employed as a Stevedore for 42 years, retiring in 1987 as a member of ILA Local 273. He was also a member of Carleton Union Lodge #8, the Scottish Right Foundation, the Luxor Temple Railway Unit, a Shriner and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 69. Ernest was an adherent of Carleton Kirk United Church. Respecting Ernest's wishes, no visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Carleton Kirk United Church. Memorial Tributes may be made to a charity of choice.
