1942-2008, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Briggs, 65, of Glace Bay and formerly of Erin, Ont. Ken passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Glace Bay. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late George and Mary (MacDougall) Briggs. Ken will be sadly missed by his loving daughter, Tammy (John) Barnhart, Erin, Ont.; son, Troy (Kelly) Briggs, Eagle Lake; cherished Poppa of Cody, Ryan, Marissa and Brianna Barnhart, and Kendra, Larry and Kenny Briggs; brother of Connie (Donnie) MacDonald, Danny (Judy) Briggs, Marilyn (Jack) Popwell, Joanie Aucoin (Eddie Turnbull), George (Margaret) Briggs, Sheldon (Diane) Briggs; brother-in-law of Phyllis (Ed) Discepolo, Glenda (Al) Barrett, Jeff (Pat) Barry, Linda (Chester) Dickie, Donna (Jim) Muir, Lovern Beaudrie and Nancy Smith. Ken will be sadly missed by his partner, Shelley Budden and her extended family and fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sandra (Barry) Briggs (2000), brother, Gerald and his wife, Annie Briggs, brother-in-law, Dennis Barry and sister-in-law, Colleen Beaudrie. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated in Erin, Ont.
