SMITH, GOLDA (1916-2007) - Golda Smith of Carlingford passed away peacefully at Victoria Glen Manor on the evening of May 19, 2007. Born in Carlingford on November 5, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian (Fields) Flowers. Golda leaves behind her children, Darlene (Fred) Clark, Joan Smith, and Ernest (Linda) Smith, all from Carlingford; her sisters, Inez Mackin of Toronto, Donna Turner of Carlingford, Schylor (Fran) Turner of Virginia; her brothers, Preston (Mavis) Flowers of Aroostook, Lowell (Carolyn) Flowers of South River, ON; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Smith; her son, James Gary Smith; sisters, Dora Elliott, Myria O'Connor, Ella Tattersall; brothers, Merle, Leo, Dorance, and Charlie Flowers. Golda worked as a nurse in Fort Fairfield, Maine for over 30 years. Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Monday 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 2 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Glen Corkum officiating. Interment will be at the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery.
