STEWART, ABDIEL F. - passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday June 9th, 2007. He was born at Garnett Settlement, NB. on May 7th, 1923 to the late John (Margaret [Sproul]) Stewart. Ab is survived by his loving wife, Frances Mary (Tennant) Stewart; one son, Richard B. (Debbie) of Saint John; two daughters, Lynda Stewart and Janet Stewart, both of Saint John; one sister, Jean Hooper of Pennfield; two grandchildren, Jay (Shalon) Stewart of Fredericton and Scott (Terry) Stewart of Alberta; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Benjamin Stewart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Ab was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Ernest and a sister, Mary Titus. Ab was past President of the Simonds Branch # 53 Royal Canadian Legion, belonged to the United Commercial Travelers Assoc., Saint John's Lodge # 2 F&A.M., Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite 32', Past President of the Balls Lake Fishing Club, the Hammond River Angling Assoc., St. James Anglican Church Lakewood NB, and was the last surviving member of the Terrible Ten Veteran's Club. Ab retired in 1986 from School District 20 (8) as Director of Plant. Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John NB. (646-2424) The family will receive visitors on Monday June 11th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral service will be held at St. James Church Lakewood on Tuesday June 12th, at 2 pm. Interment will be held at a later date.
