BERNARD, RUTH - On June 16th, 2007 Ruth Bernard passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ruth is survived by her step-mother and step-father Alfred and Ruth Deject of Brockville ON; her husband Joseph Atwell of Saint John; three daughters Wendy Wiseman (Blaine) of Whitby, ON, Christine Beatty (David) of Whitby, ON and Sheri-Lynn Stagg (Richard) of Saint John; four step children Maureen Atwell (Freeman) of Grand-Bay, Cheryl Kempton (Philson) of Cow Bay, N.S, Joseph Atwell (Dawn) and Robert Atwell both of Saint John; twelve grandchildren; several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was predeceased by her father Charles Keeping; mother Mary Mavin; mother-in-law Francis Atwell and brother-in-law John Harkness. Ruth worked as a bank teller at Royal Trust for 15 years. She loved spending time with family and friends, loved her children and adored her grandkids. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday June 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday June 20th, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment will be held at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.
