SMIDT, INGRID - At Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover, June 18, 2007, Mrs. Ingrid Smidt of New Denmark passed away at the age of 93 years. She was the wife of the late Erik Smidt. Born in Denmark, Europe in 1914, she was the last surviving child of the late Valdemar and Ellen (Carlsen) Bertelsen. She is survived by her son, Carl Smidt (Eleanor) of Penobsquis and her daughter, Myrna Jensen (Anders) of New Denmark; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Ketty, Emmy and Agnes. Resting at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Denmark from where her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 20th at 2 p.m., with Rev. Ellen Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the church on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. For those who wish, donations to St. Peter's Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
