ELMER TRUMAN MCALLISTER
MCALLISTER, ELMER TRUMAN - Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, June 30, 2007. Born on June 12, 1919, he was the son of the late Elvin "Doe" and Mabel (Howe) McAllister. Elmer was a Longshoreman at the Port of Saint John for many years and in his later years he was an Assistant Supervisor with CPR Railway. Elmer and his wife were avid harness racing fans and traveled often to different tracks in Maine and New England. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years, Faustina (Harvie) McAllister; three daughters, Linda (Bev) Bower, Clea Louise (Edgar) Vye, and Judy (Bruce) Latham; nine grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; and several cousins, including a special cousin, Malcolm (Carol) Howe. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701), visitation will take place Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 from Carleton-Kirk United Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Elmer, may be made to the NB Lung Association, or to a charity of choice.
