THOMAS "CHOOKIE" LYNCH

LYNCH, THOMAS "CHOOKIE" - (1923-2007) passed peacefully at his residence on Tuesday July 3, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. Husband of Rhoda (Humphrey) Lynch for 56 loving years. Born in Saint John, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Doyle) Lynch. Chookie will be sadly missed by his five daughters; Brenda (Steve) Smith of Rothesay, Gail Seely (Pat Leet) of Coal Branch, Dawn (George) Roberts of Woodstock, Margaret-Ann (Roger) Reid of Saint John, Norma-Jean (Terry) LeBlanc of Saint John, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, James Lynch of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Chookie was predeceased by a sister, Anna Brown and four brothers; Charley, Joe, Johnny and Barney. Chookie worked for the water and sewage department for the City of Saint John as a pipe fitter for 37 years. A member of St. Jude's Church as well as a Vestry Member. Also a member of Carleton Branch # 2 Legion and was affectionately known as the "MAYOR" of the West Side. Resting at Castle "Fallsview Chapel" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) with visitation on Wednesday July 4, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Thursday July 5, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held from St. Jude's Anglican Church on Friday July 6, 2007 at 10:30 am. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery followed by a reception at the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers remembrances in memory of Chookie may be made to St. Jude's Building Fund. A book of condolences may be signed at www.castlefh.com
