BLEAKNEY, VERA MARJORIE - The death of Vera Marjorie Bleakney, wife of the late Edison Bleakney, occurred on July 26, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Geary, NB, she was the daughter of the late Commadore and Marjorie (Murray) Carr. She was employed with the Lantic Sugar Refinery before her retirement. She is survived by her daughters Sheila Howe (Emery) of Geary, Carol Evans (David) of Darlings Island, Judy Charters of Fredericton, brothers Earl Carr of Saint John, Kenneth Carr (Midge) of Geary, six grandchildren; Jennifer, Angela, Graham, Crystal, Mitch and John, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her sister Vivian Porter and brother Woodrow Carr predeceased her. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
