FLOWERS, DOUGLAS JOHN - The death of Douglas John Flowers husband of Gladys (Payne) Flowers, occurred on Tuesday August 14, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1932 he was the son of the late George and Louise (Hampton) Flowers. Besides his loving wife Gladys, Douglas is survived by sons Phillip (Michele) and Michael both of Grand Bay-Westfield; daughter Betty Brown (Duane) also of Grand Bay-Westfield; sisters Marion Durdan (Edward) of Brown's Flat, Alice Sargeant (Harold), Muriel Gaunce (James) and Hazel Corbett (Robert) all of Grand Bay-Westfield; five grandchildren Trevor and Tiffany Brown and Jessica, Thomas (T.J.) and Dylan Daye; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Clarence, William and Frederick Flowers. By request there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
