LEONARD JOSEPH ARSENEAULT

ARSENEAULT, LEONARD JOSEPH - Leonard Joseph Arseneault, loving husband of the late Gretta Arseneault passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1925 in Nelson, NB he was the son of the late Emanuel and Anna (Losier) Arseneault. Leonard started work in Saint John for Burns Foods at the Old Cold Storage Plant on Main Street and was a regular at the Winter Port. For several years he drove truck for Black's Transfer and Lockharts Lumber later retiring from Dean's at the City Market as a meat cutter. He was a former member of Portland United Church and St. Mark's United Church and belonged to many different seniors groups. Leonard was devoted husband father and grandfather. He is survived by sons Stephen Arseneault (Cathy), Gary Arseneault; daughter Ann Marie Arseneault (Ron Doucette) all of Saint John; Step-children Cameron Clowater (Joan) of Oromocto, Leroy Clowater (Joyce) of Saint John, David Clowater (Muriel) of Fredericton, Joy Klein of Florida; brothers Albert (Theresa) of Rogersville, Alphonse (Margarette) of Cambridge Narrows, Alfred (Helena) of Moncton, Lucien (Anna) of New Castle, Romeo (Gloria) of Moncton; sisters Maria Thebeau (Delore) of Rogersville, Threse Cassie (Edgard) of Rogersville, Lucy DeSylva (Harven) of Saint John; grandchildren Christopher, Matthew and Tricia; one great-grandson Cody. Besides his parents Leonard was predeceased by his wife Gretta and a sister Yvonne Arseneault. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Following cremation a private family interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of Leonard can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of choice.
