
MURRAY J. MACAULAY
MACAULAY, MURRAY J. - The death of Murray J. Macaulay of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, August 19th, 2007. Born in Lower Millstream, NB on May 2nd, 1919 he was the eldest son of the late James and Gertrude (Robinson) Macaulay and husband of the late Eva Elizabeth (Rogers) Macaulay. Murray began his career with the New Brunswick Department of Lands and Mines in Sussex in 1939. In 1945 he and his family moved to Petitcodiac where he was the District Forest Ranger. While in Petitcodiac he was very active in the community, volunteering with the Petitcodiac Fire Department and the local Kiwanis Club. His love of singing led him to be actively involved with the 9th District Layman's Choir and to sing tenor with a quartet for many years. In 1966 they moved to Fredericton where he retired in 1985. Murray is survived by his daughters, Joan Lewis (Milford) of Mactaquac, NB and Reta Mitchell (Lenny Boudreau) and Donna Leblanc (Ronald) all of Fredericton, NB; his grandchildren, Cynthia Mitchell (Jon Hofman) of Dunnville, ON, Christine Bider (Todd) of Dunnville, ON, Gregory LeBlanc (Monica) of Keswick Ridge, NB and Michael LeBlanc (Cynthia) of Westfield, NB; his great-grandchildren, Amy LeBlanc, Ryan LeBlanc, Holden Passmore, Ty Bider and Cole Bider; his brothers, Horace (Margaret) of Nepean, ON and Raymond (Dorothy) of Maugerville, NB; his sister, Bernice Giberson (Raymond) of Presque Isle, ME; his brothers-in-law, Harold Rogers (Alta) of Halifax, NS and Eldon Rogers (Thelma) of Miramichi, NB; his sister-in-law, Louise Rogers of Petitcodiac, NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Eva and his brother-in-law, Stanley Rogers. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street (458-9170) on Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
