77, Sydney Mines We regret to announce the passing of Vilma Mae Baxendale, of 50 Jacob St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Harrison) Baxendale. She was a member and excellent parishioner at Trinity Anglican Church in Sydney Mines. Vilma had a loving, kind and generous heart to all who knew her. She liked to talk to people and enjoyed Senior’s Day Care. She is survived by her sister, Iris (Daniel) McGeown, California; sister-in-law, Betty Baxendale, Montreal; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many kind and loving friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Wilmont, Montreal, sister, Beryl Jobe, and brother-in-law, Peter Jobe, Sydney Mines. Visitation for Vilma Mae Baxendale will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. The funeral service will take place Friday at 10 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Queen Street, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery.
