EDWARD CAMPBELL

CAMPBELL, EDWARD - 1941-2007. After a courageous battle with cancer, Edward Campbell Jr. of Carlingford passed away at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, Maine on September 21, 2007. Born in Moncton, NB on May 3, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward Campbell Sr. and Margaret (Giberson) Campbell. Besides his mother, who lives in Carlingford, Edward is survived by step-children Alan Munroe, Scott Munroe, Bruce Munroe, Mark Munroe, Debi Murphy, Sandy Powell; a special friend Jamie Bailey and her son Tristian Bailey; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, his wife Dorothy Campbell (Goldthwaithe), and his brother Stephen Dale Campbell. Edward spent most of his life living in Wilmington, North Carolina. He worked at various jobs while in North Carolina. His favorite pastimes were riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He particularly enjoyed racing dirt bikes and took part in several scrambles. He also raced motorcycles at Daytona twice in his life. Edward was well known for his highly skilled wood working. Many of his works are in Wilmington's most important buildings. Edward moved back to New Brunswick in 2002 to be closer to his mother. By Edward's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 10:30 am from Brunswick Funeral Home Chapel. Miss Brenda McNeil will officiate. Interment will follow in the Arthurette United Baptist Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the basement of St. Helen's Anglican Church. For those who wish, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Please note that there will also be a memorial service held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 4 pm from the Oleander Methodist Church in Wilmington, North Carolina.
