RATHBURN, DELBERT - The death of Delbert Douglas Rathburn, loving husband of Edna (Rodgerson) Rathburn of West Saint John occurred on Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1927 in Hibernia, NB he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Sutton) Rathburn. Dell worked in Water and Sewerage and Parks Department for the City of Saint John for 30 years. Besides his devoted wife, Edna, he is survived by his loving children, Marie Allen (Douglas) of Fredericton, Marvin Rathburn (Kathleen King) of Saint John, Dale McNeill (Lannie) of Moncton, Caroline Howe (Graham) of Saint John, Sharon Lambert (Jacque) of French Village, Eupheima Beddow (Liam) of Peterborough, ON, Rose Sudsbear (Kenneth) of Kingston Peninsula, Karl Rathburn (Tammy) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Lisa LaTouche (Andrew) of Calgary; one brother, John Rathburn (Barb) of Grand Bay-Westfield; two sisters, Margaret Lindsey (George) of B.C. and Sally Richards of Browns Flat; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Irven, George and Walter Rathburn. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (646-2424) with visitations on Sunday October 7, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday October 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Following cremation a private family interment will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
