ROBERT SPELLMAN

SPELLMAN, ROBERT - Robert "Sunny" Spellman, husband of Murlene (Burgess) Spellman, of Grand Bay-Westfield, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family on October 15, 2007. Born 1930 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Robert Harold and Beulah (Mott) Spellman. A welder and pipe fitter by trade, Sunny retired in 1987. He was a member of the Anglican Church Of The Resurrection and belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #22. He enjoyed playing the keyboard for his friends and at one time played for the festival of trees. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Murlene; daughter Sandra Gale Arseneau (Frank) of Grand Bay-Westfield; two grandsons, Trevor Doyle (Karen) and Stephen Doyle; two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Brooke Doyle; brother Ronald Spellman (Lena) of Hampton; sisters Doris Whitenect of Saint John, Colleen Foster of Rothesay and Joan Cook of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents Sunny was predeceased by his two sisters, Georgina LeBlanc and Gloria Waddell and canine friend Sally Ann. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitations on Tuesday and Wednesday October 16th and 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday October 18th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Committal to follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Woodman's Point. Reception following at the Anglican Parish Center, 263 River Valley Dr. Grand Bay.
