70, Glace Bay It is with great sadness that we, the family of Paul Leslie MacKinnon, announce his passing on May 6, 2008. Paul was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Neil J. MacKinnon of Glace Bay. Paul was a coal miner for 30 years, also for the past number of years, Paul was on the graveyard committee (St. Anne’s, Holy Cross, St. Leo’s and St. John’s). Paul is survived by daughter, Sherry Lynn (Derek) Stanley, N.B.; grandson, Matthew; brothers, Dr. Neil J. MacKinnon (Valerie), Guelph, Ont., Basil (Claudia), Glace Bay, Charles (Peggy), Bermuda; sisters, Mary (Joseph) Madore, Kathy (Bob) Bradbury, Debbie (Joe) Batten and Sandra (Mike) McDonough, Glace Bay, Muriel Bedecki (John Cameron), Sydney; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends especially his morning coffee buddies and his good friend, Claire McNeil, Sydney. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neil J. MacKinnon, wife, Diane and baby boy in infancy, sister, Shirley Churney and brother, Gerard. Staying with Paul’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will take place at St. John’s Church, New Aberdeen, Monday, May 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Fr. John McIntyre officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Donations in Paul’s memory maybe made to a charity of one’s choice.
