1922-2008 Reserve Mines It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Ellen Chiasson, 85, of 29 Official Row, Reserve Mines. Margaret passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay. She had been a resident of Seaview Manor since January of this year. Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (MacDonald) Howley. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines. Margaret was a former member of Branch 2 Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Reserve Mines. She loved to crochet, knit and was a great seamstress. In her earlier years she was a member of a few bowling leagues. She will be sadly missed by daughters, Marion (who resided with her mother), at home, Deborah, Fredericton, N.B.; sons, James (Frances), Port Hawkesbury, John Joe, Jr. (Carol Ann), Glace Bay. Also surviving are seven cherished grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Margaret was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Joe, son, Wayne, brothers, James, John, Fabian, sister, Amelia Mugford. Visitation for Margaret Ellen Chiasson will be held Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
