Sydney In loving memory of Aunt Ivy, 96, who passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, surrounded by family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness. Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Robson) and F.J. ‘Fred’ Mitchell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ivy attended school in Dominion and was a graduate of the Halifax Ladies College. She lived in Calgary for many years before returning home to care for her mother. Ivy worked at the Normaway Handcraft and Gift Shop. She is survived by her niece, Louise (Mitchell) MacDonald, her husband, Hector and their son, Mitchell, Sydney; nephew, Don (Hazel) Skinner and family, Calgary, Alta. Ivy was predeceased by her sisters, Lorna May and Edna (Mrs. Will Skinner) and brothers, Henry Robert, Fred R., Percy, Nigel A. (Vivian) and Laddie Werner. A memorial service will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Dominion, with Rev. Stacy LeMoine officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Centreville Road, Reserve Mines. Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, c/o Bill Vokey, 8 Marconi St., PO.
