GORDON WAKEFIELD ELDRIDGE
ELDRIDGE, GORDON WAKEFIELD- At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on December 17, 2007, Mr. Gordon Wakefield Eldridge, husband of the late Leona (Pendleton) Eldridge of Beaver Harbour NB. Born in Beaver Harbour on December 3, 1916 he was a son of the late George and Florence (Bennett) Eldridge. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, Gordon is survived by two sons, Jack Eldridge of Bocabec NB and Gordon Eldridge Jr. of Beaver Harbour; four daughters, Carole (Nelson) MacKenzie and Audrey (Ronnie) Hawkins both of Beaver Harbour, Donna (Fraser) Walsh of Blacks Harbour and Kate (Peeter) Vihvelin of Saint John NB; 15 Grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Eldridge of Beaver Harbour; Dear Friends, Mike and Pearl Bourque of Beaver Harbour and Francis and Theresa O'Neil of Pennfield NB, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by one daughter, Joan Eldridge; one grandson, Terry Eldridge; and two brothers, Millen and Harold Eldridge. Prior to his retirement, Gordon worked as a carpenter for Connors Bros Ltd. in Blacks Harbour and later at the construction of Point Lepreau. He loved woodworking and carpentry work and was a member of the Brunswick Curling Club in Blacks Harbour. Gordon was an expert gardener and had a wealth of knowledge of the people and places around his home of Charlotte County. He was well loved and will be missed greatly by his Fundy Nursing Home family. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB, from where the service will be held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 10:00 am with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Interment will be held at the Beaver Harbour Community Cemetery in the Spring. Visiting at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
