
WILLIAM JOSEPH 'JOE' DUPLISEA
DUPLISEA, WILLIAM JOSEPH 'JOE' - Passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Fairville, N.B., he was a son of the late William and Margaret (Boyle) Duplisea of Enniskillen, N.B. A veteran of the Second World War, he served overseas from 1942 to 1946 in England, France and Germany, attached to the British 5th division and the U.S. Army 9th Armoured Division. In civilian life, he was employed for many years with Moosehead Breweries Ltd. A devoted family man; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and meeting his friends at the Lancaster Mall. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Reid); four children, Joy (Shaun) Biggs of Chatham, Ont.; Reid (Patricia), Saint John; Paula (Dennis) McLean, Grand Bay-Westfield; and Ford (Gerald) of Saint John; six grandchildren, Sally, Cavan, Colleen, Jason, Justin and Devin; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Bob) Duplisea; two sisters, Helen and Mary; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Quigg, Evelyn Dunn and Bernice Walsh; and three brothers, Murray, Harold and Donald Duplisea. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes "Fallsview" Chapel, 309 Lancaster Avenue (634-1701) with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 on Monday and Tuesday. The funeral will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church with memorial mass at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 donations may be made to Romero House or the charity of the donor's choice.
