STAFFORD-WADE, DORIS THERESA MARIE - The death of Doris Theresa Marie Stafford-Wade, wife of the late Bernard J. Stafford, occurred on Friday, January 18th, 2008 at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born 1914 in Golden Grove, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Beatrice (King) Horgan. Doris worked at the General Hospital as a Telecommunications supervisor until her retirement. She was an active member of the Saint John Press Club, CWL Stella Maris and The RAOB Ladies Glades #1. Doris was an avid skier, bowler and long distance swimmer and had many wonderful memories from her cottage on the lake. She was well known for her cheerful outlook on life. Doris is survived by son, Brian (Linda) Stafford of Saint John; daughter Wendy Post of PEI; step-son Hartley (Jean) Wade of Hampton; brothers Daniel Horgan, Donald (Mary) Horgan, Noel (Marg) Horgan, all of Saint John and Murray (Ray) Horgan of NS; grandchildren Christa, Joel, Michelle, Jennifer, David and Cara; several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Joy Sherwood, Kay Pickard and Jan Stafford. Besides her parents and first husband, Doris was predeceased by her second husband Vernar Wade; brothers Harold, Ken, and Cyril; sisters Rita, Winnie, Eileen and Bea. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday, January 19th and Sunday, January 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday January 20, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery at a later date.
