GEORGE C. SPENCE
SPENCE, GEORGE C. - Big River, NB George C. Spence, 89, of Big River, NB, passed away on Friday (January 18, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathursttorn in Bayfield, NB, he was the son of the late George C. and Ethel (Simpson) Spence. He served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Army (R.C.E.M.) in Canada and overseas. Member of the Luxor Temple NB Lodge St. John #27 F&AM, Bathurst. He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife; Doreen Amos. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Paul, one son, Wayne Spence of Florida, one daughter, Sharon McMaster (John) of Moncton, one sister, Muriel Nickerson of Alberta, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers; Eugene & Melvin. The body will rest after 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Elhatton's Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday (January 20, 2007) at 2:00 p.m. from Elhatton's Funeral Home Chapel, St. George St., Bathurst. Burial will be in the United Cemetery, Ste Anne St., in the spring. Visiting hours are Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
