It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cyril Samms announces his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 55 years, Marjorie; sons: Darren (Russell) of Toronto and Sheldon (Lori) of Deer Lake; grandson, Matthew of Halifax; sisters: Rhoda Brown (Ken) of Ontario and Marie Frampton (Wish) of New Brunswick; brothers: Gideon Samms (Delilah) and Sandy Samms all of Newfoundland; sisters-in-law: Jessie Miller, Phyllis Allen, Lorena Batstone (Ralph) and Frankie Bagg all of Corner Brook; brother-in-law, John Bagg (Helen) of Manitoba; step-brother, Ray Hunt (Emma) of Ontario; step-sister, Elsie Pye (Ralph) of Corner Brook; long time friend, Aubrey Allen of Stephenville; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Major Frank Johnson officiating. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Corner Brook Women’s Center.
