DUFFY, GERALD PATRICK (GERRY) - Gerald passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 3, 2008. Gerry was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia on February 19, 1956. He was the youngest son of Delmar Duffy and the late Diana (Hebert) Duffy. Survivors include his fiancee, Mary Lou Colpitts; and sons, BJ and Jamie; brother, James of Charlottetown PE; sisters, Phyllis Simons (Gord) of Amherst NS, Constance Carruthers of Charlottetown PE, and Lynn Welcher (John) of New Maryland, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha; and brothers, Joseph and Charles. He will be sadly missed by Spook, Frosty and Sydney. Gerry worked with several businesses in Saint John. His most recent was CATSA at Saint John Airport. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and never missed a race. He also collected vintage cars. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:00 noon from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Charles Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
