JOSEPHINE ARMEL HENNESSEY
HENNESSEY, JOSEPHINE ARMEL - Sadly, the death of Josephine Armel Hennessey of Saint John, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 1, 2008. Born on February 2, 1929 in Glace Bay, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Anne (MacQuarrie) McNeil. Josie was a devout Catholic who enjoyed and lived her faith every day. Josie had worked at MRA's, Calp's, and as a Red Cross homemaker. She loved playing piano, gardening, bowling, and loved to dance. She also loved the sport of Shopping. A loving mother and grandmother, Josie's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, John (Brenda) Hennessey, Saint John, Dana Hennessey, Calgary; and six daughters, Ellen (Gordon) LeBlanc, Dianne (Dr. Les) Allaby, Mary (Paul) Shea, Jean (Reg) Bland, all of Saint John, Pam (Mike) DeLay, Mineville, N.S, and Angie (Mike) Henry of Saint John; three sisters, Eleanor Lord of St. Stephen, Mae Ellsworth, and Laurentia O'Brien, both of Glace Bay, N.S.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John; as well as two loving grandchildren; two brothers, John Joe McNeil, and Dan McNeil; and four sisters, Evelyn Pitre, Rita McNeil, and Aggie MacCormack and Julia Plichie. Resting at Castle "Fallsview " Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John (634-1701) with visitation Sunday 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 12 noon from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery followed by a reception in the Fallsview Family Reception Center.
