HENDERSON, ELDON R. - The passing of Eldon R. Henderson of Estey's Bridge, NB, husband of Freda (Sandwith) Henderson occurred on Wednesday, February 06, 2008 at the Palliative care unit Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his wife, family and friends. Born on January 27, 1926 in Royal Road, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Ruth (Saunders) Henderson. Eldon was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of First Congregational Church of Fredericton, the Kingsley (Silver Tops) Senior Citizens Club and Welsh Society. Eldon often entertained his friends by recalling stories and events of the past and he had a keen sense of humor. He enjoyed music and was a Wilf Carter fan. In addition to his wife of 53 years Freda, Eldon is survived by his sisters, Evelyn Anderson and Elma White (Clarence); brother, John J. Henderson (Vivian) all of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Eldon is predeceased by his sisters, Doris Chapman, Jennie Griffiths and Ethel Thomas; brothers, Douglas E. and Lloyd A. Henderson (Doreen); brothers in law, William Anderson, Robert Chapman, Roy Thomas and Winslow Griffiths. At Eldon's request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday February 10, 2008 at 2pm. Sharing the service will be Rev. Dr. Brad Little, Rev. Bob Johnson and Rev. David Ingalls. Reception to follow. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery, Kingsley, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the First Congregational Church of Fredericton Building Fund or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
