FLECKNELL, NEIL P. - The death of Neil P. Flecknell of Bloomfield, husband of Ruby (Bizzo) Flecknell occurred February 7th, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Derbyshire, England, son of the late Hedley and Ellen (Boylan) Flecknell. Neil was a resident of Bloomfield since 1966. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy for thirty five years as a Submariner. He was a member of Hampton Branch No. 28, Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; two sons, Robert Flecknell (Doris), Bloomfield and Kenneth Flecknell (Judy), Perry Point; one sister, Anne Melanson, Saint John; one brother, Matthew Flecknell (Mavis), Saint John; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, his twin Vesey and Hedley Jr; and one sister, Judy Lambert. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation on Friday from 2 pm to 8 pm. Vigil prayers will take place on Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Alphonsus Church, Hampton, on Saturday at 10:00am. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Saint John.
