JOHN WESLEY WARNOCK

WARNOCK, JOHN WESLEY - This kind, gentle, and quiet man passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 17, 2008 at the age of 86. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lillian F. (Johnson) Warnock of 71 years. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late John and Evelyn (Nice) Warnock. He was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway as a trainman for 42 years. At his retirement, he moved to Oak Point, N.B. where he purchased a small farm and woodlot and raised beef cattle for a number of years. In earlier years he was a member of the YMCA's fitness club where he participated in running and earned a brown belt in Judo. He enjoyed skating in later years, and in his seventies took up sailing and boating on the Saint John River. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, New Brunswick Branch #22 for fifty years. He attended St. Paul's Anglican Church at Oak Point and served as Cub Master of the 1st Greenwich Cub Pack. He was loved and respected by his family of two daughters, Carol (Dr. Ronald) Craig of Quispamsis and Dorothy (Richard) McFadden of Oak Point; one sister, Vera (Herbert) Swazey of Fredericton; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and the extended family of his late son John (Irene) Warnock of Harvey, which included seven step-children and step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son James in infancy; son John; infant grandson John; and his brothers, Rupert and Percy Warnock. By request there will be no visitation. A Memorial service will take place at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 2:30 pm followed by a reception in the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. A private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Mr. Warnock to the Building Fund of the Church of the Resurrection, Parish of the Nerepis and St. John would be appreciated by his family.
