MAJOR FLOYD AUSTIN MANNING

MANNING, MAJOR FLOYD AUSTIN - Floyd Manning, of Saint John, died peacefully at St. Josephs Hospital on February 18, 2008. He was born in Saint John and was the husband of the late Ethel (Keithlin) Manning and son of the late Percy and Ethel Manning. Floyd was a veteran of WWII serving in the Canadian Army (1942 - 1967) with the rank of Major. Upon his retirement from the Military he later was a sales manager of Allied Movers. Floyd loved crossword puzzles and being in uptown Saint John, but his greatest love was his family. Floyd is survived by one daughter, Brenda Morrison (Brian) of Saint John; one brother, Hazen Manning (Bea) of Ontario; one sister-in-law, Jean Manning of Moncton; two grandchildren, Geoff Gillingham and Jennifer Gillingham (Vicki Doyle); also survived by a special niece, Judy Foster as well as several other nieces and nephews. Floyd was also predeceased by one sister, Shirley Neeley and one brother, Gordon Manning. Arrangements are under the care of Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Center (634-1712), 91 Leinster Street. Following cremation the service will be held in Cavanagh's Chapel on Saturday February 23, 2008 at 11:00 am followed by interment in Greenwood Cemetery Field of Honor. A reception at the funeral home will follow the interment. Visitation will be from 10:15 am until service time.
