KOHR, MARY PHYLLIS - (September 17, 1922 - February 20, 2008) - It is with profound sadness and sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Phyllis on the 20th of February 2008 at the Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB in her 86th year. Loving mother to her two sons, Alexander George (Sandy) Hay and Dallas Ian Hay. Predeceased by her devoted husband Charles Kohr; and her parents Arthur and Nellie (Sandall) Laskey. Also survived by one stepson Robert Kohr (Carole) and family; one grandson James Ross; and three beautiful great granddaughters. She was a life-long resident of the Saint John area, attending school and raising her family in the local area. She served her country during WWII in the Royal Canadian Navy and remained close to her service friends by service and commitment to the Royal Canadian Legion. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Special thanks to all the staff at the Rocmaura Nursing Home for their friendship, kindness and compassion towards her in her last years with us. Resting at Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visiting on Friday February 22, 2008 from 7-9pm. A Tribute to a veteran service will be held at 7pm on Friday evening. Friends are invited to join us for her funeral service which will take place on Saturday at 2pm in Cavanagh's Chapel with interment at Cedarhill Cemetery in the spring.
