DEVENNE, RUSSELL ERNEST - The death of Russell Ernest Devenne, husband of the late Stella Jean (MacQuarrie) Devenne occurred on February 22nd, 2008 at his residence surrounded by family. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Ernest and Elsie (Godwin) Devenne. He was a member of the former St. James Anglican Church, Broad Street. He served in Canada during WW II and was a member of RCAFA 250 Wing. He was an electrician having worked with H. C. Lawton Electrical Ltd. for nearly 40 years before becoming self-employed. He retired in 1989. Surviving are his son, Richard (Jackie) of Mission, BC; daughter, Bonnie (Gary Costello) of Saint John; sister, Dorothy Dealhoy of Waasis, NB; granddaughters, Kristi and Kelly of Mission, BC, Angela Hilton (Davis) of Saint John; great-grandchildren, Anna, Jakob and Jack; special cousin, Joanne Garnett; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Gordon and Norman; and sister, Helen Leger. Following cremation the funeral service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424) at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008.
