JAMES ALFRED WALSH
WALSH, JAMES ALFRED - The passing of James Alfred Walsh of Saint John, husband of Dorothy Agnus (Campbell) Walsh, occurred on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at his home. Born on June 24, 1927 in Manchester, England, he was the son of the late Patrick and Martha (Congelton) Walsh. In his early years, he sailed with the merchant marine and later settled in Saint John with his loving wife and two children. He then went to work at Moosehead Breweries, Saint John Fire Dept., City Hall, Irving Oil, Retiring from Public Works Canada of District Head of Maintenance, NB. After his retirement, he continued to enjoy spending time with his grandchildren, his pride and joy. Jim is survived by one son, James A. Walsh Jr. (Kelly) of Quispamsis; and one daughter, Kathie Horgan (John) of Saint John; his grandchildren, Jamie and Jacob Walsh, and Shawn, Edward, Ross, and his only granddaughter, Jill Horgan. Also survived by his sister, Joan (Roy) Howard of Blackpool, England; and sister-in-law, Susan Walsh (predeceased by brother, Charles) and families in Manchester. Resting at the Cavanagh Funeral and Cremation Center, 91 Leinster St. (634-1712). Memorial service to be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 1:00pm in Cavanagh's Chapel with reception to follow.
