ARTHUR LOWE
LOWE, ARTHUR - At the Charlotte County Hospital, on Wednesday, February, 27th, 2008; Robert Arthur Lowe of Chipman Apts, St. Stephen, NB, husband of the late Thelma Bernice (Moffatt) Lowe. Born in St. Stephen, NB he is the son of the late George William & Edith Mae (Polley) Lowe. Arthur had worked for the St. Stephen Woodworking Manufacturers. He was an avid hockey and baseball player. He played in the St. Stephen Old Timers League and played the sport up until the age of 72. In that 72nd year he played 72 times. The number on his jersey always reflected his age. He was a member of the NB Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 1971, as part of the St. Stephen St. Croix Milltown Baseball Team (1931-1939). As a loving father and grandfather he always attended every game in which his children and grandchildren were involved. He served as coach of the St. Stephen Aces Hockey Team that won the Intermediate C New Brunswick Hockey Championship, 1693. Art was a faithful Rotarian for 53 years serving the St. Stephen Milltown Rotary Club. He was a Paul Harris Recipient, with a record of 100% attendance. He served on St. Stephen Town Council as well as the local school board. He was a member of the St. Stephen Presbyterian Church serving as Elder for many years. Arthur is survived by his three daughters Judith Wilson (Rod) of Fredericton, Sharon Fowler (Eugene) of Fredericton, NB, Linda Lowe of St. Stephen, six grandchildren, Rodney (Amanda) Wilson, Derek Wilson (Tammy Price), Dr. Robert Fowler (Dr. Eva Shimaoka), Angela Fowler (Ben Kennedy), Trevor Perry (Dr. Stephanie Perry), Krista Amos(Kris), five great grandchildren, Jackson & Marcus Wilson, Matthew Fowler, Olivia & Avery Amos. By Arthur's request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place later in the spring in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Stephen Milltown Rotary Club, St. Stephen Presbyterian Church and the Charlotte County Civic Centre would be appreciated by the family. Pledge forms for the Civic Centre can be picked up at the funeral home.
