It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen McCarthy announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the age of 70 years. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Alphonsus, three sons: Wayne (Susan) McCarthy of Vernon, British Columbia, Gary (Jacquie) McCarthy of Brampton, Ontario, Derek (Maggie) McCarthy of Cormack, NL, one daughter, Carleen (Danny) Doucette of Aguathuna, NL, 9 grandchildren/step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren/ step great grandchildren, special friend and careworker, Alice Marche of Stephenville and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Ann Whittle and grandson, Shane Hobbs. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 27th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
