GOGGAN, THERESA FRANCIS - At the Oshawa General Hospital on March 5th, 2008. Beloved wife of James of Whitby, ON, married 1950. Mother of James (Terri) of Courtice, Paul (Doreen) of Oshawa, Michael (Mary) of Toronto, Theresa (Bill) Vermulst of Whitby, and Kevin (Cindy) of Saint John, NB. Grandmother to Nikki (Adam), Steven, Bill, Lindsay, Joseph, Lori, Michael and Alison. Great-Grandmother to Alexander and Lauren. Born November 29th, 1927, daughter of the late Maurice and Anna (Sullivan) Garvin. She was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas (in infancy), and Maurice (2004), and three sisters, Doris (1939), Carmela, R.N. (1990), and Geraldine (2004). She is survived by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Kilravey and Noreen Palmer, both of Saint John, NB. A graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing (1948), Theresa worked part- or full-time throughout her career, retiring as a Nurse with Corrections Canada in 1992. Theresa and Jim raised their family in Saint John, NB, moving to Oshawa in 1973 and Whitby in 1985. She valued family vacation and had a cottage on Bradley Lake, NB from 1960 forward, and went to St. Petersburg, Florida every year from the mid 70's until recently. She truly enjoyed her cards and friendships at the Whitby Seniors Centre. Theresa was an immensely practical person, always keeping her priorities straight. She was a lady to her core. Deeply caring and supportive to her family and friends, wasting nothing, her legacy will live on in every wise choice we make. A Saint John Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, March 11th, St. Ann's Church, Glen Falls, 11:00 am.
