MATTHEWS, E. LESTER - Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Campobello Lodge after a brief illness. Lester is survived by his wife of 66 years, Della Roberta Matthews; and their four children, Carl of Lubec, Me, Twylla Brown (Herman) of Campobello, Gary (JoAnne) of Campobello, Nadine Burgess of Bar Harbor, Me; daughter-in-law, Sandra of Lubec, Me; eight grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Jacquline Vriezen, of Saint John, NB; one niece and one nephew. Lester was predeceased by brother Weston (Dot), sister Carrie Pearl, brother-in-law Dick Vriezen and grandson Keith Wayne. The family would like to acknowledge the special care of Extra - Mural Nurse Kathy Anthony R.N. and the always caring staff of Campobello Lodge. A graveside service will be held later in the spring in Head Harbour Cemetery.
