It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elvina Beatrice Snooks announce her passing on Monday, May 5th, 2008 at the J.I. O’Connell Centre, Corner Brook at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Meta Allen (Myrle), Curling, Audrey Murrey (Luther), Stephenville, Vona Colbourne (John), Port Anson, Myra Hayes (George), Curling, Kevin (Alma), La Lcie, Nelson (Mary), Corner Brook, Mildred Sturgess (Terry), Surry, England, Edith Chasteen (Eric), Huntsville, Alabama, and Maxine Snooks, Corner Brook, daughters-in-law: Helen Snooks, Curling and Julie Whalen, La Scie, 47 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Selby, son Lloyd, sons-in-law Herbert Allen, Axel Erickson and Thomas Hayes, grandchildren Michael Hayes, Pamela Tilley and Lorne Snooks, parents Aubrey and Charlotte Howell, sister Myrtle Matthews and brother Elliott Howell. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday and Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9th at 2:00 PM from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling with Rev. John Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
