After graduating from Bath High School in 1965, Gregor received a Lord Beaverbrook Scholarship and attended UNB in Fredericton, where he earned a degree in Economics. Gregor's working life was never boring. His first job was helping his Dad build a hydro-electric dam in rural New Brunswick, where he learned to the construction trade through much trial and some error. His most satisfying work in Canada may have been with the New Brunswick public service, where he helped improve the rural housing for many families across the province. He started small businesses that provided garbage collection services, the development of Canadian feature films, and the manufacture of hard wood flooring. The ideas were abundant, the profits were hard to come by and the tales of adventure grew with every telling. Since 2000, Gregor lived and worked in Belize, most recently as Project Manager for Green and Black's Ltd., a chocolate products company based in London, UK. One of his greatest achievements while working in Belize was the strengthening of the Toledo Cacao Association after accepting a voluntary work offer in 2003. During his years of working in the Cacao Industry in Belize, Gregor touched the lives of Toledo Cacao farmers, fighting for better prices, creating better working environments in the industry, nurturing and guiding young entrepreneurs and graduates to become successful business individuals, as well as contributing to school and community functions in an effort to increase sustainability for social and economic development in the Toledo District. Additionally, Gregor was one of the founding pioneers of the first ever Toledo Cacao Fest 2007. All of these efforts stand tall amongst many and will remain in the hearts of many cacao farmers for he contributed tremendously in the development of the Toledo Cacao Growers Association and the cacao industry in Belize. His outstanding hard work and dedication to the cacao farmers and T.C.G.A lasted to the every last minute before his death. The many cacao farmers in Belize will sadly miss him. Gregor is survived by his loving parents; his children, Jeffrey, Jason, Phoebe and Hannah; his brothers, Basil, Garfield, Hilery, Larry, Jeffrey and Darren and sisters, Jennifer, Jaye, Heidi and Jill, and special friend Elzena.
