Passed peacefully away on April 15, 2008, at her daughter’s residence in St. John’s, Emeline (Gillis) Ryan, formerly of Codroy Valley, Newfoundland, at the age of 99 years. Predeceased by her husband, Leo Ryan (Senior) on February 7, 1988, and her son, Leo Ryan (Junior) on July 13, 2007. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: John (Jessie), Roger (Susan), Gerald (Margaret Rose), Pat and Leonard; her daughters: Cyrilla Riley, Barbara O’Quinn, Catherine (Garry Bambrick) Ryan, and Mary (Andy) Noel; her sisters: Veronica (Ed) Berringer and Josephine Gillis; her brother: John Gillis; her sisters-in-law: Bernice Gillis and Marie Patry; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives. Following a private service in St. John’s, she will be resting at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in the Codroy Valley of Newfoundland. Visitation will be Thursday, April 17th, from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday, April 18th, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Codroy. No flowers by request but a donation of your choice may be made in her memory.
