DEBORAH ANN LEAVER

LEAVER, DEBORAH ANN - Deborah (Debbie) Leaver of Saint John, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 3rd, 2008. Born in Halifax on Sept. 9th, 1923, Debbie was married to the late Sam Leaver and was predeceased by brothers, Albert, Harry, George, Charlie, and Bill of NS and sister, Muriel of NS. Debbie was a generous lady and caring, compassionate mother and is survived by two sons, John Leaver (Sharon) of Brantford, ON and Carter Leaver of Saint John; her daughter, Trisha Leaver (Carl) of Riverview, beloved sister, Peg Sidney of Halifax; two grandchildren, Heather and Duane Leaver of Saint John, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Debbie was a Canada Service Veteran and served with the Canadian Women's Army Corps overseas during WWII in England, Holland, Germany and France. She was a Commissionaire at Saint John Nurses' Residence and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Women's Auxiliary-Sussex branch. Throughout her life she enjoyed making crafts, sewing, reading, loving her family and making sure her pets were well cared for. She was cherished by her family and will be dearly missed. Arrangements are entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A Celebration of Debbie's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, April 7th, 2008 at 11:00 am with Fr. Arnie Hachey officiating.
