RICHARD, JOSEPH - The death of Joseph Frederick Richard, loving husband of Kathryn (Lamont) Richard, occurred on Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in 1956 in Saint John, he was the son of Shirley (Marr) Richard and the late Joseph Clinton Richard. Joe owned and operated his own Custom Embroidery Shop. He had previously worked at CentraCare for 17 years as a psychiatric attendant. He was a member of the Slackers Club and Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69. Joe enjoyed fishing and bon fires at Douglas Lake and spending time with his family. Besides his loving wife, Kathryn, of 30 years and mother, he is survived by his son, Jason Richard (Angela) of Saint John and daughter, Kalyn Richard (Andrew) of Saint John; brothers, Wayne Richard (Sharon) of Hammonds Plains, NS and John Richard (Lisa) of Quispamsis; sisters, Carol Cooper (Kenneth) of Saint John, Dianne Buchanan (George) of Saint John, Mary Connell (Richard) of Saint John and Patricia Kelly (Stephen) of Rothesay; special cousin and friend Edwin Swetman (Donna) of Red Deer, AB; his special companion dog Maesy Mae; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Tuesday April 15, 2008 at 2 p.m. The family would appreciate donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice. www.fundyfuneralhome.com
