LAFOREST, IONA EDITH - The passing of Iona Laforest of Plaster Rock occurred on May 17, 2008 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Caldwell Brook, NB she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Edith Barr. Iona is survived by one son, Bernard (Yvette) Parent of Saint John; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Clark of Perth-Andover; and one brother, Hubert (Joyce) Barr of Ottawa. Predeceased by her parents; husbands, Ovide Parent, Russell Knox, Robert Laforest; son, Jack; daughter, Lynda; and brother, Denziloe Barr. Resting at Saint George's Anglican Church, Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Tuesday May 20th from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 21st at 2 pm from the church with Rev. Ellen Curtis officiating. Interment in Plaster Rock Community Cemetery. Memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
