FLORA ELEANOR FANJOY

FANJOY, FLORA ELEANOR - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Flora Eleanor Fanjoy on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 14, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Hosea and Ruby (Thorne) Fanjoy. Flora retired from Centracare in the Occupational Therapy Dept. after 17 years of service. She had previously worked at the DVA Hospital. She loved bingo, knitting & crocheting and old country music. She is survived by her daughter, Anita "Joyce" Singer of Saint John; sister, Doris Appleby of Cambridge Narrows; two grandchildren, Shannon Julie Singer of Saint John and Christine Gail Singer of Calgary, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Alden (Marietta), Blake (Doris), Donovan (Joan) and Ralph (Edith); brother-in-law, Shelton Appleby; special friend, Cheryl Hunter of Keswick, Ont. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) there will be no visitation and by Flora's request cremation will take place followed by a memorial service in Fallsview Chapel on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. Interment will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at McDonald's Corner United Baptist Church Cemetery in Cambridge Narrows, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations, in memory of Flora, may be made to the Extra-Mural Program or a charity of the donor's choice. www.castlefh.com
