GARNETT, RICHARD LLOYD - Richard Garnett of Saint John, husband of Claire (McCaig), father of Kathryn Marie, and son-in-law of Agnes McCaig, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, June 2nd, 2008. Born in Saint John to the late LeRoy and Rita (O'Dell) Garnett. Richard graduated from Simonds Regional High School in 1970. Richard was a member of the Saint John City Police Force up until his retirement as Corporal in 1997. He was a member of the Valley Cruisers Antique Car Club for many years. He is survived by brothers, Burchill Smith (Willa) of Toronto, ON, Robert (Geraldine) and Bruce both of Saint John; sisters, Pamela Penninger of San Diego, CA, Debby Perry and Nancy White (Norman), all of Saint John; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and his many friends. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday June 4th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Catholic Church on Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at 10:30 am. Private family interment to take place at a later date.
