O'NEILL, FLORA KATHRYN "KAY" - Peacefully at her residence, at Blacks Harbour, NB, on June 9th, 2008, Mrs. Flora Kathryn "Kay" (Pendleton) O'Neill, wife of the late Arthur Edward O'Neill of Blacks Harbour. Born at Deer Island, NB, on October 11th, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Madeline (Stuart) Pendleton. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Kay is survived by one son, Francis (Theresa) O'Neill of Pennfield NB; five daughters, Janet (Frank) Cronin of Frederictron, NB, Glenna (Bob) Leavitt and Anita Hennessey both of Blacks Harbour, Sharon (Jay) Likely of Calgary, AB and Sheila (Myer) Yanofsky of Utopia, NB, 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Keith (Bellman) Pendelton of Deer Island, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one son, James David O'Neill; two sisters, Leona Eldridge and Beatrice Waite; and two brothers, Chandler and Maurice Pendleton. Prior to her retirement, Kay worked for Connors Bros. for many years, both in the factory and later in the retail store. She loved knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was devoted mother to her children and grandchildren and will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church at Blacks Harbour on Friday at 12:00 noon with interment at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
