WATTERS, DOROTHY CAROLYN (SHANKS) - Dorothy Carolyn (Shanks) Watters passed away at the Carleton Kirk Lodge, Saint John, on Friday June 13, 2008. Born November 11, 1908 in Central Blissville, NB she was the daughter of the late Harold Shanks and Emma (Knorr) Shanks. She was predeceased by her husband, George Watters; step mother, Florence (Howell) Shanks; three daughters, Rose, Florence and Louise; step brother, Donald Shanks; and sister, Lena Shanks. She was a member of Saint Georges Church, Church workers and Woman's Auxiliary; Orange Lodge and L.O.B.A. She enjoyed taking bus trips across Canada and USA. She is survived by son, David Watters (Diana); daughter, Shirley Vautour (Al); foster children, Dawn Hartley (Dan) and William Watters of Alberta; brother, Francis Shanks (Pauline); six grandchildren, Carolyn, Paul, Gary, Krista, Trina and Nathan; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. By the family's request there will be no visitations. The funeral service will take place at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Hoyt, NB on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11 am. Interment will follow in St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of the donor's choice.
