HASTEY, ALWARD FRANCIS - The death of Alward Francis Hastey of St. Stephen occurred on June 15, 2008 at the Charlotte County Hospital. Born September 1, 1917 in Lynnfield, NB. He was the eldest child of the late Frank and Alberta Hastey. Alward is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Gary Mills; granddaughter, Heather Kennedy (Scott) and grandson, Steven (Joanne) Mills and Jacob; sisters, Laura A. Hastey and Julia I. Martin; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Gilmore) Hastey; infant son, Allison; brother, Reginald Hastey; sisters, Florence Spearin and Violet Hastey. Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2008, at 2 PM. Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
