PAUL MANNING FITZGERALD
FITZGERALD, PAUL MANNING - The death of Paul M. Fitzgerald of Saint John occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 19, 2008. He was born in Saint John, husband of Elinor (Walsh) Fitzgerald and was the son of the late Paul C. and Florence (Lobb) Fitzgerald. Paul was a life time member of the Main Street Baptist Church. He served in the US Army and served in the 6th Infantry Division and was overseas in Korea. Paul was an electrician by trade and worked 42 years for Irving Pulp & Paper and Irving Paper. He had a great love of camping and fishing in Lower Greenwich and camped at Crystal Beach for 25 years. Surviving in addition to his wife; are two sons, Paul Fitzgerald Jr. (Annette) of Saint John and Mark Fitzgerald (Colleen) of Saint John; one Daughter, Darlene Barton (Robbin) of Saint John; one brother, George Fitzgerald (Lou) of Quispamsis; two sisters, Shirley Welch (Max) of Halifax, NS., and Dot Beers (Earle) of Cambridge Narrows; five Grandchildren, Dwayne, Shellee, Robert, Jarred and Lauren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend and companion, Darcy. Paul was predeceased by one brother, Eugene. Resting at the Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23 at 10:00 am. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours will be Saturday 7 to 9pm and Sunday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm.
