BARBARA ANN CROSSLEY
CROSSLEY, BARBARA ANN - The death of Barbara Ann Crossley occurred on Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. The daughter of the late James and Lilith (Reid) Peacock, she is survived by her husband, David; sons, Gregory and Frederick; sister, Joan Pearce; and brothers, James (Patricia), John (Lillian) and Richard (Linda) Peacock. A graduate of the Saint John School of Nursing, Barb went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and graduate work in psychiatry in Montreal. She practiced in Saint John and Montreal, and taught nursing in Saint John and Halifax. For 15 years, she operated the Birch Kindergarten out of her home in Quispamsis. She was an associate professor at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario, specializing in early childhood development. Barb enjoyed outdoor activities with her family such as sailing on the Saint John River and gardening. Barb traveled extensively in England, Europe, and the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand. She worked in Jordan, Norway, and Jamaica. In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be a small private service on Monday. However, relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John. Towards the end of the summer, a gathering for family and close friends will be held, at which time the interment will take place.
